Topic: No-Compile Solutions with SharePoint Content Types and Managed Metadata

I've been accused of trying to 'code my way out of anything'. Well, a recent project has exposed me to the powerful content management features of SharePoint 2010 and I have learned that a lot of code isn't necessary at all where exploiting these features of SharePoint are concerned. In fact, none of the code I have written for this project requires compiling. By extending the Content Query Web Part and utilizing Custom Content Types, I'll show you how to implement content management the SharePoint way. During the demonstration we'll build on this concept by introducing Managed Metadata Site Columns to further drive our content management experience.

Note: Rackspace is in the process of moving their front door to the I-35 side of the complex. You may want to allow extra time for finding the meeting location this month.

Presenter: Patrick O'Gorman, Applied Information Sciences (AIS)

Patrick O'Gorman has been developing in SharePoint and .Net technologies since 2001. He has experience in many industries and is currently working on the new Chemonics public-facing web using SharePoint 2010. Patrick currently works for Applied Information Sciences and is a Microsoft Technology Specialist in Dynamics.
